Guild Rules
1. Recruitment
Membership of the guild will be by invitation only, if you wish to join us either post a request in this forum or alternatively whisper a guild member and ask about being guilded.
We have no limits on character classes, levels or races but we do expect people to have some knowledge about their class and also be willing to learn and contribute to the guilds progression through -
- Helping other guild members with instances and quests.
- Levelling up your trade skills and using them to help guild members advance their gear (of course they will provide the materials).
- Gearing up and preparing for raiding, we will help people to gear up and also use our trade skills to help boost our performance while raiding. But we expect people to bring their own materials for items and consumables.
We will not be inviting your friends, everyone will go through the application process - refer them to the website and have them apply that they might be considered by the council.
2. Behaviour
Your behaviour in the game reflects on our guild. Anyone who is found to be breaking the EULA or TOC will be kicked from the guild immediately as this can and does affect all of our accounts(banned for being associated with accounts in violation of the terms of service for example).
This includes things such as buying/selling gold or toons, or using a leveling service.
Other behaviours include being afk in battlegrounds, abuse or harrassement of other players - these will result in you being kicked from the guild. We do not tolerate Ninja looting, griefing or being a trade chat retard.
3. Vault
The guild bank is available to all players ranked member and above, initiates have no access to the vault as a precautionary measure while we evaluate their suitability for guild membership.
Do not use the guild vault to pay for repairs, unless you are contributing gold to cover the cost.
All items donated to the guild bank become the property of the guild, if you accidently put in something that you wish returned speak to an officer, however if you decide to leave the guild anything you have donated in the past is guild property and you no longer have any claim to it.
Any player may use any item they have access to in the guild vault. Do not put an item in the guild vault if you wish to save it for a specific purpose please use your own bank.
The guild vault is not a dumping ground, please do not use it as your own personal bank.
Access to tabs and money is limited by ranking, higher ranked players have better access.
4. Guild Ranking
Guild ranking is based on a number of factors -
- Player performace
- Contribution to the guild
- Contribution to guild progression
- Maturity and leadership ability
All guild positions are under the purvue of the Guild Council, promotion will be by consensus and requires at least 3 members of the guild council to confer.
All players opinions are welcome and will be taken into consideration when we make our decisions.
Currently Guild Ranks are:
- Guild Council - Officers and those who deal with guild issues
- Class Leader - Where to go with questions about your class
- Raid Leader - People who are authorised to lead raids and use our vent server
- Veteran - Former Raiders and Council who no longer have time to play
- Master Raider - Commited Players who have agreed to meet our raid attendance requirements and are given priority for raid spots, loot and materials
- Raider - Players who can't always make it to our raids but would like to raid if we have an opening
- Member - Social Members who have little interest in raiding.
- Initiate - People new to the guild on Trial
5. Code of Conduct - Raiding
You must arrive on time for any scheduled raids you sign up for, if you are late it will result in you being penalised and having 2000 EP deducted. If you disconnect or /AFK out of a scheduled raid before the finish time you will be penalised 5000 EP and If you are repeatedly late you will be removed from the guild.
You will be expected to arrive with the proper flask, food buff and potions elixirs for raiding. If you arrive and need repairs after one death or run out of arrows in the middle of a fight then you are wasting valuable time. Not preparing properly will result in you being penalised, if you repeatedly arrive unprepared you will be removed from the guild.
You will be expected to remain for the duration of the scheduled raid, if you have to leave early for any reason other than an emergency please prepare in advance. Leaving early also incurs a EP penalty. It is your responsibility to find a replacement, guild officers will offer assitance but ultimately show some respect for other guild members and limit the amount of time we have to spend looking for people.
Mandatory raid attendance is 75%, if you cannot maintain 3/4 fridays and Saturdays per month then you will lose your raid spot to a more dedicated player.
The focus of our raids are progression, if you are only interested in loot and not interested in team work then this guild is not for you. Loot is a secondary concern and the natural rewards of hard work and progressing.
Required AddOns for raiding - Omen or a similar threat meter, DBM or Bigwigs bossmods, Decursive (certain classes only).
6. Vent
If you are invited to join our ventrilio system, please remember that you are a guest and show some respect. Vent is strictly for raid info and communication. If you wish to chat do so somewhere else. Vent is only for Blood of Medivh raids - one being run by our guild members - not alts, not for your friends, not for your family.
If you are found to be irritating other players by using vent in a manner its not intended for you will promptly be banned.
7. Loot System
Raid looting
10 man raids:
All players who participlate including PUGs will have the right to roll on loot - according to their suitability for the item, priority will be given based on class and specilisation - E.G. Resto druids will get first priority on leather healing kit.
The Raid Leader will act as the master looter and also mediate in any loot disputes which occur.
Raids should always have at least one enchanter to disenchant items for materials.
We ask that you show some courtesy to other raid members, if you win one item and there is more than one member with similiar loot requirements please pass on the next item for them.
25man raids:
We will be using EPGP, however EPGP is to guide us on contribution and how many upgrades people have had, the decision will still be made by the Loot Council (guild officers).
EPGP will be used on any raid with more than 15 guild members participating.
8. EPGP
This system can seem overwhelming until you get the hang of it. There are examples in here to better explain each portion. If you have any questions after reading this feel free to post on the forums.
Visit the EPGP website for additional information about the EPGP system.
HIGHLIGHTS AND OVERVIEW OF EPGP
A. Definition:
EPGP stands for an Event Points/Gear Points system. Our EPGP has three aspects to it. Each aspect will be explained in further details below.
Event Points (EP) and Gear Points (GP) are awarded to raid members during a raid.
Priority Rating (PR) is used to determine who gets loot and is based on the following formula: PR = EP / GP.
Decay and Penalty systems which can affect your EP and GP earned.
B. Abbreviations:
EP = Event Points (Awarded for Participation, sometimes called Effort Points)
GP = Gear Points (Loot Value)
PR = Priority Rating (Number used to determine who gets Loot)
EVENT POINTS (EP) AND GEAR POINTS (GP)
A. Event Points:
Your EP will continue to build as you raid more and more with the guild. Being ready to raid at the start time will earn you a set number of EP. Being in the raid from start to finish will also earn you a set number of EP. There will be no partial credit for attendance. Your EP goes down through being Penalized (see below) and through Decay (see below). All Event Points values will be listed here in its own guide. Points are always awarded AFTER the raid, so each current boss kill/attempt will never affect your PR rating during the raid.
Event points are currently accumulated for the following things:
- Showing up to a raid on time.
- Staying to the end of the raid.
- Boss attempts/Boss kills.
For Example:
Person A is ready for the KZ raid on time, at the instance or ready to be summoned, repaired and with reagents so gets 50 EP.
Person A participates in killing Attumen(25 EP), Moroes(50 EP), Maiden(50 EP), Opera(50 EP), Curator(75 EP) and Aran(100 EP). The total EP for all the bosses is 350. Person A stays for the full length of the raid and gets another 50 EP. Person A has accumulated a total of (50 + 350 + 50) = 450 EP.
B. Gear Points:
Gear Points are awarded for each item you receive based on its quality and level. Each item already has a set GP in the game. Your GP number will continuously go up as you accrue gear. GP will also be affected by Decay (see below), but not by Penalties. All first time raiders start with a GP value of 100 until they receive an item. This is due to the way PR is calculated (PR = EP/GP). If you divide your EP value by 0 (no GP points) then you get a PR rating of 0 (for all practical purposes). When you receive an item in game it will get added in to calculate your new PR rating, which will now be lower. This gives other people who may be close to your PR rating a chance to also get loot during a raid.
For Example:
The item [King's Defender]is worth 128 GP. Person A from the example above has 450 EP. Their new Priority Rating (PR) after receiving the item would be (450 / 128) = 3.52%
If you want to understand more about how GP is configured for items you can check out the following websites: What is EPGP? and WoWhead. Wowhead will give you the item level for any drop in the game. Take that item level and compute the calculations towards the bottom of the EPGP website. During a raid this will be done by the DKP Leader and is not something that needs to be worried about calculating. When loot is being decided on the DKP Leader will announce the GP value of each item. As items get added to the guild website their GP will also be added.
LOOT PRIORITY & PRIORITY RATING (PR)
A. Overall Practice:
Loot Priority Rating (PR) is determined by dividing your current EP by your current GP. PR = EP/GP. This is the number that will determine who gets the loot when multiple people are interested in the item. Since this system is a relational one, based on your EP (Participation) and GP (Gear awarded) combined, it is actually easy for new people coming in to get gear after meeting the minimum requirements (see below). Note that PR rating is not affected by the current raid or the item being bid on, but only by your previous EP/GP. When a new item is requested it will be based on your PR rating without calculating the new item into it. After you 'win' the item, your GP rating will be changed and therefore reflect a new PR rating (Remember: PR=EP/GP).
For Example:
| |
EP |
GP |
PR |
| Person C |
200 |
100 |
2 |
| Person D |
100 |
1 |
100 |
So in this example Person C and Person D want the same item, [Gloves of the Fallen Defender]. Person C has a PR of 2: (200 / 100) = 2. Person D has a PR of 100: (100 / 1) = 100. Person D would get the item over Person C.
Note that the GP value of the item is irrelevant for the bidding process as it does not affect your PR rating until after you receive the item. If the GP value of Gloves of the Fallen Defender is 333 then Person D has a new GP value of: (1 + 333) = 334. Their new PR rating is: (100 / 334) = .30. Person D has a new PR rating of .30 which will affect his/her chances at getting the next piece of loot.
With this example you can see that the system is designed to reward people who participate more and have less gear. The higher a person's EP, the more they participate. The lower a person's GP, the less gear they have. New people who have met the Minimum Requirements to become a Raid Member will be at an advantage if they have not accrued any gear yet.
B. Special Conditions:
Gearing Guild Tanks
The only rule that supersedes the PR rule is the gearing of Main Tanks for the guild. Main Tanks will get first gear priority over other classes. In the above example, if Person C is a Protection Warrior (MT) and Person D is a Priest then Person C would get the Gloves of the Fallen Defender over Person D even though Person D has a higher PR rating. This rule is only used in gearing Main Tanks with tanking gear (ie they have no priority over plate DPS gear).
REQUESTING GEAR DURING RAIDS
A. Gear vs Class/Spec
It is expected that all members of the raid will pass gear to a class that the gear is better suited for. Melee DPS gear is not a priority for protection warriors so that gear should be passed to Rogues and DPS warriors. If no one that the gear is better suited for actually needs it then the item will be open to anyone.
B. Submitting a request
If you are interested in an item and the item is suited for your class then send the DKP Leader a tell of "Primary" during the loot distribution. If you are interested in an item that is not designed for your class or if you don't have a pressing need for it but could be interested in it then you can send the DKP leader a tell of "Secondary."
C. Minimum EP Required
Raid members are required to have a minimum of 3 raids and at least 2,000 EP before they can request items. If no one is interested in an item then it may go to someone with less EP in lieu of being disenchanted.
DECAY & PENALTY SYSTEM
A. Decay System
The Decay System is designed to be a gradual decay over time of your EP and GP points. This is to prevent DKP hording. Our current decay system will be 25%. Every day your EP and GP points will slowly decay at a rate of 25% in 7 days, until each raw point is equal to .10 points. It takes 56 days for each point to decay to .10 point.
B. Penalty System
The Penalty System is designed to punish people for unacceptable behavior. The following penalties will be enforced by the Raid Leader:
-
-1000 EP penalty for signing up for a raid but not showing up.
This penalty will not be enforced if you notify the raid leader 24 hours in advance or find a suitable replacement for your class function.
-
If you leave during a Raid for any reason other than an unavoidable problem you will suffer-500 EP, a second occurance will result in a -1000 EP penalty.
-
If you go AFK for a long period of time (more than 10 minutes) without letting the raid leader know you will suffer -500 EP.
PROGRESSION
A. Boss attempts
Any boss that a raid encounters and does not kill will receive 25% of the bosses EP value per attempt. This will max out at 3 attempts for a total of 75%. If the boss is eventually killed then everyone gets the full value of that boss. There is no stacking of EP earned from attempting AND killing.
For Example:
If High King Maulgar yields 300 EP and we go into Gruul's Lair and makes 4 attempts on him but do not kill him then everyone in the raid will earn 225 EP:
25% of 300 EP = 75 EP
75 EP for each attempt, maxing at 3 attempts = 225 EP.
If the raid ends up killing him then everyone will get the full 300 EP, no more and no less.
B. First Kills for the Guild
Any boss that is a first time kill for the Guild will earn everyone in the raid 150% of the EP value.
For Example:
If High King Maulgar yields 300 EP and we go into Gruul's Lair and kills him for the first time then everyone in that raid will get 450 EP. From that point on High King Maulgar will only yield 300 EP.
C. Standby EP
If you sign up and show up for a raid, but there aren't any spots open you are eligible for standby EP, this is the EP you would get for time spent in the raid(recurring EP) and does not include Ep from Boss Kills.
